WATER & LAND ADVENTURES
Description
This tour is the only one we offer that gives you the chance to hop off of the boat and explore on foot! Choose from one of four locations that are only accessible by water, then get out and check them out with your group!
1) Famous Boldt Castle:
Boldt Castle is likely the most famous landmark in our region, and for good reason! This beautiful castle is unlike anything you've seen before, featuring grand ballrooms, secret passageways, it's own private island, and even a bowling alley!
2) Beautiful Grindstone Island Winery:
(1:00 PM Slot Only) Grindstone Island is the 4th largest in the region, with miles of walking trails and untouched land. Sitting in the middle of it is our favorite winery: Grindstone Island Winery. Given that the island is only accessible by boat, few visitors get the chance to make this stop!
Note: July and August the Winery is open Tuesday - Sunday.
During June and September hours are Thursday - Sunday.
3) Historic Rock Island Light House:
The Rock Island Lighthouse is a key piece of river history. Originally commissioned in 1847, this building was a major contribution to the development of the river we know and love today.
4) Relaxing Picnic Point:
Picnic Point is another great point-of-interest on Grindstone Island. It is a public-use park area that is perfect for a morning or afternoon picnic with your group! It features a beautiful waterside gazebo, a small beach area, public restrooms, and access to the miles of walking trails on Grindstone Island.
Note: While the Rock Island Lighthouse and Picnic Point are each free admission, Boldt Castle and Grindstone Island Winery will require payment for any admission and/or purchases. This charges are separate from 1000 Islands Private Boat Tours, and are paid to these venues directly.
Helpful Information
Check-In: Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts for check-in. You'll meet Jordan at Thousand Island Park on Wellesley Island and he will guide you down to the dock where the boat is located. Full details will be provided after booking.
What to Wear & Bring: If you're planning to swim, don't forget your swimsuit! We also recommend bringing sunglasses, towels, and plenty of sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. If the weather looks cooler, it's always a good idea to bring some layers to ensure your comfort.
Cancellation Policies: Please let us know at least one week before your scheduled tour to receive a full refund. Within 48 hours of your scheduled tour, we cannot offer refunds for cancellations, except for inclement weather. In such cases, we'll work with you to reschedule or offer a full refund.
Food & Drinks: Bring your favorite drinks and snacks to enjoy on board, and feel free to pack a lunch or some sandwiches for a midday picnic. We provide a large cooler on board with ice and plenty of water to keep you hydrated throughout the day.
Seasons: We offer this package from May through September so you can choose the time that works best for you! Each month brings its own special charm to the tour. During peak season, when the temperature typically falls in the 70s to 80s, you'll find that there's no such thing as too warm of a day on the water!
Accessibility: Our tours are designed for those with full mobility as our smaller vessel may present challenges when boarding. Please take this into consideration before booking. If you have any questions or concerns, contact us beforehand to discuss possible alternative options.
